Brunch is an SMU student film that follows Hannah and Jeff as they visit Hannah’s parents for brunch. This is the first time that Jeff has met Hannah’s parents, and things take an unexpected turn when Jeff meets Caleb, Hannah’s very handsome brother. The film is a comedy. This is an unpaid, non-union shoot. This is a student film through SMU’s film and media arts department with professional-level set, equipment, and procedures. It is for a major required course, so everything will be up to industry standards. The shoot will follow COVID safety guidelines based on the protocol being used on Hollywood sets.
Roles:
Jeff- Male, mid/late 20s, handsome, confident, friendly. (Must be okay with brief kiss with Caleb, nothing heavy)
Hannah- Female, mid/late 20s to early 30s- Sweet, slightly disorganized, fun, always means well
David- Male, mid 40’s to mid/late 50s- Hannah’s dad; typical dad character, goofy, light-hearted, sometimes socially unaware
Kitty- Female, 40s-60s, Hannah’s mother. Enthusiastically friendly with no filter.
Caleb- Male- early/mid-20s – Hannah’s brother, fairly quiet, in good shape, very handy (must be ok with brief on-screen kiss with Jeff, nothing heavy)
Shoot Dates/Locations: Shooting in the Dallas area in the month of October; aiming for the weekend of October 16, 17, and 18 (if needed)
