Auditions for Footloose will be held on March 8 & 9 at Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron. Seeking a diverse cast of talented and dedicated actors, singers and dancers ages 16 to adult. All roles are available.

Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, March 11 from 6:00 – 9:00 and will consist of dance auditions and readings from the script for some.

What to Prepare

Please bring a headshot and/or resume, if you have either.
Please prepare 16 bars of music in the style of the show — but NOT from the show itself. Choose a song that highlights your vocal skills. Please bring sheet music for your song (in the appropriate key) with you to the audition. An accompanist will be provided.
Please bring your calendar with you to the auditions in order to declare any scheduling conflicts between April 1 and May 30, 2020. Conflicts during tech or the performance run or that are not included on your audition paperwork are not accepted.

Rehearsal Times
Rehearsals will typically take place on Sundays through Thursdays, but there will be some occasional Friday and Saturday rehearsals. There will not be more than 5 rehearsals scheduled for any week. Performers will only be called to rehearsals for scenes/songs that they are involved in.

Technical rehearsals begin Sunday, May 31, 2020 and continue each night through the final dress rehearsal on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Attendance at all technical rehearsals is mandatory.

Performance Times
Footloose will play for 16 performances in Weathervane’s Founders Theater between Thursday, June 4 and Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
