Review the entire schedule and make note of any conflicts in the audition form. (Rehearsals will begin on August 30th however, this is a tentative schedule and the days we meet could change based on the cast. There is a place in the audition form for you to choose the rehearsal schedule you’d prefer and make note of any conflicts you may have. Also, note that the performance on December 19th will begin at 1 pm)

Vocal/Dance Audition
Auditions will be held in 90-minute time slots. Be prepared to stay for the full 90 minutes. The dance audition will take place first. Dress comfortably and be prepared to move and wear shoes you can dance in. You will not be tapping at the audition, so tap shoes are not required.

There will be a 10-minute break between the dance auditions and the vocal auditions. If you would like to change clothes for your vocal audition, you will have time to do so, but it is not required or expected.

Vocal auditions will take place after the dance audition. Please prepare a 1 minute cut of a song by Irving Berlin. It can be a song from the show or any other song he has written. An accompanist will be available, but we will also have a speaker available for backing tracks.

Charlie Auditioners (Ages 9 – 12. Any Gender.)
Children auditioning for Charlie Winslow should NOT attend in-person auditions. Instead, they should fill out the audition form and submit a video audition to They should prepare a 1 minute cut of a song that shows off their voice and acting abilities. Make sure they use a backing track for their song and that we can see their face.

Danny Auditioners (Follow these instructions if you are auditioning for Danny and are not willing to accept any other role)
Actors auditioning only for Danny should NOT attend in-person auditions. Instead, they should fill out the audition form and submit a video audition to Please prepare a short comedic monologue OR a 1 minute cut of a comedic song. (Please note that Danny does not sing a solo, but it may be easier to find a song than a monologue so you may prepare either one)

Jim Hardy – a performer and singer-songwriter eager to leave showbiz for a simpler life on a farm in Connecticut, age 25-35, Baritone
Ted Hanover – Jim’s best friend and performing partner; a charming ladies’ man looking for his big break, age 25-35, Baritone
Lila Dixon – a determined performer and Jim’s mismatched fiancée, age 25-35, Mezzo-Soprano
Danny – Jim, Ted, and Lila’s agent, age 30-40
Charlie Winslow – a precocious bank messenger, age 9-12
Linda Mason – a school teacher with the hidden talents of a singer and dancer, age 25-35, Soprano/Mezzo-Soprano
Louise – the local fix-it woman; tough, no-nonsense, and extremely perceptive, age 40-50, Mezzo-Soprano/Alto
Ensemble (Ages 16 and up) – Announcer, Nightly Dancers, Radio Chorus Radio Host, Radio Voice Over, Midville townspeople, Holiday Inn guests, All Voice Parts
