Models of All Types in Atlanta for Student Photoshoot at Emory University

Behind the Filter

Location: Atlanta, GA

Type: Modeling

I am looking for 5 females (ages 14-100) who feel insecure or overrun by a flaw (whether acne, an eating disorder, wrinkles, vitiligo, or anything else) to participate in an interview and a small photoshoot (less than 15 images) on Emory University’s campus (Druid Hills/ Slightly North of Little 5 Points).

I am a Visual Arts student at Emory University working on my senior capstone project. The project focuses on redefining standards of beauty and challenging the actions we take as a society to fit the mold and “feel beautiful”.

One image from each model will be painted digitally, and the final exhibit will showcase their painting with an interactive Snapchat-like filter placed 3-5 feet in front of the painting. When standing between the hanging filter and the digital painting, a viewer of the exhibit will see the woman for who she is – beautiful and flawed, unwavering in the glare of society – but when the exhibit viewer stands behind the hanging filter, they will see the woman based on society’s expectations for how she should look.

The point of this exhibit is to redefine beauty, to separate the surreal versus the real, and to celebrate the women behind the filters for who they are.

If you are interesting in participating (or know someone who may be a great fit for this project), send me a message!
