YOUNG BOY: 1.5 DAYS – $550/Day
8-10 years old, Caucasian, able to show emotion and distress and follow direction well in a domestic violence scene.
– In addition to a Headshot & Resume, please submit a video slate at the beginning of each video audition stating your name, contact info, and introducing yourself.
– Your video audition should include the following scenes:
Scene 1: Boy is trying to protect his mother as his father is being abusive. Boy is crying & yelling at his father to STOP! He stands in between his father, holding his mother back. He is afraid and distraught.
Scene 2: boy looking into the camera alone by himself quietly crying…as if he is remembering what he just went through. He can’t handle this domestic violence alone. He doesn’t know what to do or where to turn. **IMPORTANT NOTE – We want to see the boy’s eyes as he is crying. Please do not cover eyes with hands or arm or bury face in arms. Authentic fear and distress with tears is what we are looking for, not burying his face in his arms.
MOTHER: 1.5 DAYS – $550/Day
Late 20s – early 30s, Female, Caucasian, able to perform emotionally in a highly charged scenario. She needs to be able to scream and cry as her son is being pulled away from her.
– In addition to a Headshot & Resume, please submit a video slate at the beginning of each video audition stating your name, contact info, and introducing yourself.
– Your video audition should include the following scenes:
Scene 1: A social worker is taking the mother’s child away from her. We need to see the Mother reaching out to her son…crying, frantic and extremely upset. Authentic crying. Deep pain. Almost to the point of snot running from her nose. Totally disheveled.
ADDITIONAL CASTING / SUPPLEMENTAL ROLES
DAD: Half Day – $300
Late 20s – early 30s, Male, Caucasian, wearing a suit and tie, able to perform in a highly emotional abusive, domestic violence scene. Will be required to act angry, enraged, and violent. Will throw a prop glass against a wall.

Scene 1: A Dad has had a long, hard day and is angry at his wife. We need to see him yelling, angry and ready to hit his wife out of this anger. He throws a cup and smashes it (just the action in audition…no need to smash anything).
SOCIAL WORKER 01: 2 Half Days – $300/Half Day
40s Age Range, Female of ethnicity preferred, able to perform in a highly emotional scenario.

Scene 1: A social worker is consoling a young boy and appearing sympathetic and concerned. (can be acted into camera)
SOCIAL WORKER 02: Half Day – $300
20s – 30s, Female, any ethnicity, able to perform in a highly emotional scenario.

DOCTOR: 1 Location Scene – $250
30s – 50s, Male, any ethnicity, able to perform in an emotional scenario.

– Your video audition should include the following scenes:
Scene 1: The doctor is lifting up the back of the boy’s shirt to reveal bruising on his back. He is listening to his heart. Checking his eyes and other signs of abuse.
NURSE: 1 Location Scene – $250
20s – 30s, Female, any ethnicity, able to perform in an emotional scenario

– Your video audition should include the following scenes:
Scene 1: The nurse is assisting the doctor in the exam room. She is also speaking with a distraught mother in the hallway who is trying to get to her boy…(this can be performed into camera) but the nurse is telling the mother she needs to calm down and wait until the doctor is finished with the exam.
**All roles are NON-SPEAKING. There is no dialogue in this production.
**The actors will be required to yell and take some direction for ad-lib lines that would help them create a more believable scene.
