A new project is filming in NOlA and currently casting for extras to play marines.
The UNTITLED MARINE PROJECT is a one-hour dramedy about a group of 18 to 22-year-old young men who enlist in the United States Marine Corps in 1990.
We put them through the trials and tribulations of the grueling 13-week boot camp to see if they have what it takes to earn the title of Marine.
Based on the memoir, The Pink Marine, our unlikely hero Cameron Cope is a bullied, gay high school student who joins the Corps with his straight best friend, Ray. It was before Don’t Ask Don’t Tell when his enlistment is illegal, so yes, it’s insanely dangerous for both of them. But as fate would have it, turns out the Few and the Proud are a bunch of oddballs and eccentrics – and thus, a platoon brotherhood is born. In a world where the landmines are both literal and metaphorical, we take a hard and hilarious look at masculinity and what it means to belong.
