Auditions for Roles in HBO’s Game of Thrones series, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight”
HBO has recently wrapped up filming for the second season of the popular “Game of Thrones” spinoff series “House of the Dragon,” featuring stars Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke. The highly anticipated season is set for release in 2024.
While fans eagerly await the new season of “House of the Dragon” from the Game of Thrones universe, there’s exciting news on the horizon. HBO has previously announced that they were working on a new spinoff show to Game of Thrones. The upcoming successor to “Game of Thrones” will be based on the tales of Duncan the Tall and Aegon V, better known as Dunk and Egg.
Various sources report that the much-anticipated Dunk & Egg series, tentatively titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight,” appears to have begun casting and there is a casting call out for new HBO shows and the casting directors seem to be on the hunt for actors who can fill the roles of Dunk and egg. While the roles have no name attached, the descriptions are.
Game of Thrones as well as House of the Dragon films in Ireland, however the casting notice gives no indication of where this new show will be filming. The audition notice is for a child actor to play ages 9 to 11 and a tall actor, 6’4″ or above to play a soldier.
The description of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is as follows.
“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros … a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

BOY-aged 9-10 Physically small, the character is wise beyond his years, confident and witty. He has a neutral English accent, and is white with blue/green eyes and pale skin. Must be under 4ft6 and at least 9 years old by March 2024 for licensing.
SOLDIER – aged 18-25 The soldier is very tall and physically strong. He has a humble disposition and is perceptive and thoughtful. Any ethnicity. Must be at least 6ft4.
