Auditions for our upcoming production of FRANKENSTEIN.

The community theater will be holding auditions in Loredo, Texas for the stage adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, “Frankenstein.” The adaptation is one by Nick Dear which retells the story from the point of view of the Frankenstein monster.

Calling all aspiring actors and theater enthusiasts! Auditions for the electrifying production of “Frankenstein” are coming!

August 25th at 7 pm and August 26th at 2 pm.

Laredo College at the Shoebox Theater (T-30)

Ages 18 and up*
(*will consider a child for the role of William Frankenstein)

CHARACTERS

  • The Creature male, 18-50 (must be comfortable shirtless; role is physically demanding)
  • Victor Frankenstein a scientist, male, late 20s-40s
  • Gretel prostitute, female, 205-50
  • Gustav beggar, male, 20+
  • Klaus beggar, male, 20+
  • DeLacey blind, male, 50+ (experience playing musical instrument preffered)
  • Felix DeLacey’s son, male, 18-30
  • Agatha DeLacye’s daughter-in-law, female, 18-30
  • The Female Creature female, 18-40s (dance experience preffered)
  • Elizabeth Lavenza Victor’s fiancée, female, 18-35 Clarice Elizabeth’s maid, female, 18-40s
  • William Frankenstein Victor’s brother, male, 8-11 (will consider adults for this role)
  • Monsieur Frankenstein Victor’s father, male, 50+
  • Ewan an Orkney Islander, male, 40+ (Scottish accent) Rab Ewan’s nephew, male, 18-30 (Scottish accent)
  • A Constable male, 30+ Ensemble

Auditions will consist of movement exercises and cold readings from the script. You will be asked to try a British accent.
