A new Karate Kid movie is in the works and auditions are now open online for the next Karate Kid.
Sony Pictures has announced an online open call for a teen actor to play a 15 to 17 year old boy for the character of Fi Long who is described as a Chinese or a mixed race Chinese character who will star in the movie as the karate kid. This is a global talent search but the next karate kid must be fluent in English.
The upcoming Sony film is said to star Jackie Chan and the original Karate Kid, Ralph Machio.
“The Karate Kid,” a classic film released in 1984, is a coming-of-age martial arts drama that has left an enduring impact on audiences. Directed by John G. Avildsen and featuring the iconic duo of Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi, the movie tells the tale of a young teenager who moves to a new town, only to face bullying from a group of karate students. Seeking guidance, Daniel turns to Mr. Miyagi, a wise and skilled martial artist, who imparts not only karate techniques but also valuable life lessons.

LI FONG: Looking for an actor to portray Chinese or Mixed-Race Chinese
and between 15-17 years old. He speaks fluent English.
Conversational Mandarin is a strong plus.
He’s smart, scrappy and a skilled martial artist.
ANY SORT OF MARTIAL ARTS, MOVEMENT, GYMNASTICS, AND/OR DANCE EXPERIENCE IS A STRONG PLUS.
ACTING EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED!!!
