Open Online Auditions for Mrs. Doubtfire Principal Role and Ensemble Dancers

Virtual Open Call for dancers and the role of LYDIA in the National Tour of MRS. DOUBTFIRE!

Mrs. Doubtfire is still casting for certain roles.  Following open auditions online some time ago, it seems that some roles are still open for this major production.

Mrs. Doubtfire is a new musical comedy based on the Mrs. Doubtfire film which had Robin Williams star as the lead role of Mrs. Doubtfire, a man who dressed up as a woman to win over the affections of his family by getting hired as a female nanny / housekeeper.  The story doubtis coming to the stage and casting directors in New York City have been working on finding performers to fit all the open roles.

Casting directors for the live show are seeking technical dancers to perform in the ensemble as well as someone who can be an understudy for the principal role of Lydia.

About Mrs. Doubtfire:

Mrs. Doubtfire is a fictional character from the 1993 American comedy film of the same name, directed by Chris Columbus and starring Robin Williams in the lead role. Mrs. Doubtfire is actually a character played by Williams, who is a divorced father struggling to maintain a relationship with his three children.

In the film, Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) is a struggling actor and voice-over artist who is divorced from his wife, Miranda (Sally Field). He is devastated when he realizes that Miranda has been awarded custody of their children, and he cannot see them as often as he would like. In order to spend more time with his children, Daniel transforms himself into a middle-aged British woman named Mrs. Doubtfire, who becomes the children’s nanny.

Mrs. Doubtfire is a warm, caring, and humorous character who quickly becomes beloved by the children and the viewers alike. She is known for her distinctive appearance, which includes a wig, prosthetic nose, and a Scottish accent. She is also known for her culinary skills, which she uses to prepare delicious meals for the family.

Throughout the film, Mrs. Doubtfire helps the Hillard family overcome their problems and find happiness together. She provides a bridge between the estranged parents and helps them to see things from each other’s perspective. Mrs. Doubtfire’s character embodies the themes of family, love, and sacrifice, and her portrayal by Williams is widely regarded as one of his best performances.
