Upcoming auditions for Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater.
Directed by the talented Kendrix Singletary, this adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s cherished tale and the iconic animated film promises to be a hauntingly beautiful love story for all ages. Dive into the enchanting narrative where Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, yearns to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above. In her quest, she strikes a deal with the malevolent sea witch, Ursula, trading her tail for legs. However, the bargain unfolds with unexpected twists, requiring the assistance of her vibrant friends—Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab—to restore order under the sea. Immerse yourself in this fishy fable that will capture hearts with its irresistible songs, including classics like “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”

Time to Shine auditions:
The theater’s 10th Annual, hugely popular –and very competitive- talent competition. Includes all categories of talent from singing and dancing to instrumentalist. Auditions will be held to determine who gets to showcase on our stage, with over $3000 in cash prizes going to the top contestants.
New this is year is the “My Time to Shine KIDS!” competition. The theater is adding an additional show for any talented individuals under the age of 16. Both shows will be held Saturday, March 30th (1pm and 7pm).

Applications for the competition and the non-refundable $20 registration fee (PayPal/Cash/Debit) form must be submitted by 6pm Feb. 2nd. Auditions are mandatory to compete, and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
A completed application and fee are required to audition. Talent competition applications can be downloaded from the theater’s web site at www.carolinaciviccenter.com and emailed to Jonathan@carolinaciviccenter or printed and dropped off or mailed to Carolina Civic Center 315 North Chestnut Street Lumberton 28358.
Applications also may be picked up at the theater (3rd street door) weekdays between 1-5:30 pm.

Those that cannot attend the in-person auditions are asked to complete the audition form and then email a video of yourself reading the mandatory sides and singing their desired character song to Jonathan@CarolinaCivicCenter.com. At the beginning of the video please state name, age, something interesting about yourself, and the character being auditioned for.
