Auditions for speaking roles in a A Sci-Fi Drama called CypherPunks: Ghost in the Wires

Location: Santa Fe & Albuquerque Areas, NM

The filming for “CypherPunks: Ghost in the Wires,” which offers paid, non-union speaking roles, will take place in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque areas of New Mexico.

This production is under the banner of Moonworld Films, with Alika Mteuzi serving as the director and Sheila Rocha as the producer. According to the New Mexico film office, this movie is scheduled to film beginning in May 2024 and filming will continue into June.

About the movie:

In a near-future world where silence is an act of defiance, a reclusive hacker and his tech-savvy sister must overcome their philosophical differences to dismantle a rogue AI, discovering along the way a family legacy of activism that blurs the line between technology and nature.

Aqsa (Afro-Indigenous)

Description: A pragmatic technologist with an athletic build, dressed in high-tech utility clothing. Aqsa is direct, determined, and highly skilled in confronting modern issues with technology.
Shooting Days: 4-6 days

Dr. Tala Wassana (E’-Nah) Caddo Elder/Mother
Age: 60s
Ethnicity: Indigenous/Native
Description: Commanding respect and wisdom, Tala is deeply connected to her cultural and spiritual roots, guiding her children towards understanding their family legacy and the power of technology for good.
Shooting Days: 1 day

The Preacher
Age: 60s
Ethnicity: Any
Description: A rugged, fervent individual warning of technology’s spiritual and societal dangers. His apocalyptic view challenges the protagonists’ journey.
Shooting Days: 1-2 days

MAN (of a Couple)
Description: A late 30s couple grappling with decisions about their unborn child’s future in a tech-dominated society. They represent the broader societal dilemmas of technology vs. tradition.
Shooting Days: 1 day

HOW TO SUBMIT:
Please fill out the following form and submit videos + photos if you would like to be considered for this project!

1) SLATE: Start with a medium close-up shot featuring your head and shoulders. State the information requested.
a) What’s your name?
b) Where are you based?
c) How tall are you?

Please make sure to set up the camera so it is facing you (frame from chest up) and speak directly into it to tell your story for the SLATE.

2) AUDITION VIDEO: Feel free to use your phone. Shoot horizontally. Do not look at the camera. Make sure you have someone to read the other character’s lines off-camera. You should be looking at your scene partner.

Try to learn the lines as well as you can — don’t read off the page.
