New Amazon Show ‘Étoile’ Casting People To Play Ballet Dancers in NYC

A New York City casting director is currently casting for a new Amazon Studios production of a project called ‘Étoile’Amazon’s new series will focus on the intriguing world of professional ballet dancing and the drama that comes with it.

‘Étoile’ – A New Ballet Drama from the Creators of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ –  From the acclaimed creators of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, comes Étoile, an enchanting new drama series set in the glamorous and demanding world of ballet. This eight-episode series, already confirmed for two seasons, promises a captivating exploration of passion, rivalry, and artistic pursuit.

Production Details:

Étoile will be shot on location in the cultural hubs of New York City and Paris. Sherman-Palladino and Palladino will write and direct. The pair also serve as executive producers on this new project. According to Deadline, Yanic Truesdale (Gilmore Girls) has joined more Gilmore Girls alums who are executive producers on Amazon’s series, Étoile.

The series delves into the lives of dancers and artistic staff from two of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies—one based in New York City, the other in Paris. Facing the threat of closure, the companies devise an audacious plan to swap their most gifted stars in a last-ditch effort to revive their storied institutions. Through this daring exchange, Étoile will capture the highs and lows of the ballet world, from the intricate dynamics of backstage life to the electrifying performances on stage.

The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video, offering viewers a blend of drama, artistry, and the timeless allure of ballet.
