Chattanooga Youth Symphony Opens Auditions for 2025–2026 Season
The Chattanooga Youth Symphony (CYS), the region’s premier orchestral training program for young musicians, has officially opened auditions for its 2025–2026 season. Known for cultivating the next generation of artistic talent and leadership, CYS provides an exceptional experience for students dedicated to pursuing excellence in classical music.
This prestigious ensemble offers high-level orchestral training under the guidance of seasoned professionals, including mentorship from musicians of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera and direct engagement with its Music Director. Participants in the program benefit not only from expert instruction and inspiring repertoire, but also from being part of a like-minded community that values discipline, creativity, and collaboration.
As part of the upcoming season, CYS members will also have the exciting opportunity to perform in a special side-by-side concert with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera—an invaluable chance to share the stage with seasoned performers in a professional setting.

Audition Information:
- Young musicians are encouraged to audition on the following instruments:
- Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
- Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet/Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon
- Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone/Bass Trombone, Tuba
- Other: Percussion, Harp, Piano
