Cirque du Soleil – Seeking Talented Hula Dancers for ‘Auana in O‘ahu
Cirque du Soleil is holding an open casting call in Honolulu, Hawaii for skilled hula dancers to join the resident production, ‘Auana. This is an incredible opportunity for local talent to become part of a world-renowned performance company and bring the spirit of hula to a global audience.
The production is seeking proficient hula dancers with experience in both hula kahiko (traditional) and hula ‘auana (modern) styles. Selected performers will have the chance to perform regularly at the ‘Auana Theater, located inside the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, in a flexible on-call contract.
Casting Breakdown:
Seeking: Skilled Hula Dancers (all genders)
- Styles: Must be proficient in both hula kahiko and hula ‘auana.
- Age Requirement: 18 years or older.
- Location: Must be local to O‘ahu and possess valid U.S. citizenship or a Green Card.
- Availability: On-call contract with nightly availability Wednesday through Sunday.
- Compensation: Paid performance contract, terms to be discussed upon selection.

What to Expect on Audition Day:
- Choreography Instruction: Dancers will learn and perform segments of choreography from the show.
- Improvisation: Participants may be asked to engage in artistic improvisation to showcase their individuality.
- Natural Expression: Dancers are encouraged to wear minimal makeup to highlight their natural expressions.
Important Notes:
- No pre-prepared choreography is required.
- No contracts will be offered on-site. All casting decisions will be communicated within a few weeks after auditions.
- Dancers are responsible for their own travel and accommodations if attending from outside the immediate area.
- This is an on-call performance contract with potential extended opportunities through the end of 2025.

- Contract Length: Runs through December 2025, with the possibility of contract extensions.
