New York City Boxers can get cast to be in a movie.
A movie about “Rocky” is gearing up for production and is seeking REAL boxers in NYC to work on set.
I Play Rocky is an upcoming biographical drama that delves into the behind-the-scenes story of how Rocky (1976) got made. Directed by Peter Farrelly, the film follows Sylvester Stallone during a pivotal time: a struggling actor with a partially paralyzed face and a speech impediment, fighting to have his screenplay bought, but only on the condition that he plays the lead himself. He turns down money unless he can also star, working for very little in order to bring Rocky to life.
Anthony Ippolito has been cast to portray Stallone, after impressing producers with an unsolicited audition tape. The screenplay is by Peter Gamble, and the producers include Farrelly, Toby Emmerich, and Christian Baha. Amazon MGM is backing the project, with theatrical release likely. However, no release date is announced as of yet.

Per IMDB, the short description of “I Play Rocky” is “A failing actors writes the ultimate underdog story and must fight for his chance to play the role of a lifetime, Rocky Balboa.”
