Casting Call for 2026 Season of “Chicago Med”

Production is back on the NBC Chicago themed shows. Casting directors for the Chicago Med series are currently looking to cast area locals who would like to work as paid background actors on set. The show premiered in 2015 and is currently filming new episodes for the 2025 season of the show.

The casting notices are listed below.  Please only submit your information if you are local to the Chicagoland area and have the availability needed.  Please see the details of what they are casting for below. Please note that this is only for background actors / extras.

About the show:

Chicago Med: Seeking NEWBORN Baby

We are looking for a mixed ethnicity newborn (African American / Caucasian) to play a brand new baby of cast parents in the upcoming episode of Chicago Med.

The youngest age that can work on camera is 6 weeks old, so your baby should ideally be about 4 weeks old right now. Exact filming dates for the newborn have not been scheduled yet, but the episode will shoot between Wednesday 12/10 and Friday 12/19.

Your baby will need a minor work permit to be booked for this role. Please see the submission instructions below. Upon receipt, we will email you the requirements to obtain a minor work permit.

PAY: $200/2 hrs (this is a guaranteed $200 for any time up to 2 hours max)

Chicago Med – General Availability

We’re collecting submissions for Episode 11013 of Chicago Med. There is one director-selected category at the bottom of this post. Please submit via email for the director-selected role, including the information requested below.

FOR GENERAL SUBMISSIONS: PLEASE USE THE GOOGLE FORM, IF POSSIBLE. We open every email submission and manually transfer your info and availability to a spreadsheet, so we strongly encourage you to use the form instead of emailing your submission. If you receive an error message, please try the following troubleshooting tips:

Clear your cache / cookies (if you use Safari)
Try using Chrome
Try using a laptop instead of a phone

This submission form is for general background roles, which means they’re open to any gender, any ethnicity, ages 18 and older WITHIN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA (2 hrs of Chicago). You must have graduated from high school and not be attending classes at the time of submission. If we have any roles available for minors, we’ll post for that separately.

General background roles pay $132.80/8. The pay rate is a flat rate for any time worked up to 8 hours (it is not an hourly rate), with time + 1/2 after 8 hours. If we book you with your vehicle to be parked on set, there will be a $35 bump added to your pay. No red or white vehicles, please.

Role: We are looking for ST PATTY’S DAY PARTIERS! This is open to any gender, any ethnicity, ages 18+ (must be graduated from high school). We’re looking for the types of folks that would be hanging downtown at the Chicago Riverwalk, watching the river being dyed green, wearing their most festive outfits and perhaps enjoying one too many green beers. (Note: there is no drinking involved; we’re just describing the character type for this background role)
Please let us know in your submission if you would be comfortable having your hair or beard colored green for filming. This is a temporary color that washes out right away, and would be applied by our hair and makeup departments. Product specifications and ingredient list can be provided, if requested. A $50 bump would be added to your pay if selected.
Wardrobe fitting: Wednesday 12/3
Filming: Thursday 12/4
Pay: $132.80/8 + $25 fitting bump + $50 makeup bump (if applicable)
