Brunswick Little Theatre Announces Auditions for “The Hallelujah Girls” by Jones, Hope, and Wooten
Brunswick Little Theatre is holding open auditions for the hilarious Southern comedy The Hallelujah Girls. This high-spirited play centers around a lively group of women in Eden Falls, Georgia, who gather weekly at SPA-DEE-DAH!, an old church-turned-day-spa, to commiserate, motivate each other, and pursue long-delayed dreams. When a close friend passes away, the women are jolted into action — but as they chase change, they must also navigate love troubles, surprise visitors, rivalries, and comically chaotic challenges.

No roles are pre-cast.
Auditions will be cold reads from selected sides of the script.
Please bring a resume and headshot (a candid photo is acceptable if you don’t have a professional headshot).
Be ready to list any conflicts from June 8 through July 30.
Rehearsals will be held three times per week, with specific days TBD based on cast availability.
Tech Week begins July 27 – no conflicts allowed from that date forward.

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 PM
Sundays at 3:00 PM

Character Breakdown: Age ranges for all roles are flexible (roughly 40–70).
- Carlene Travis – Female, 50s. Tough, practical, with dry humor.
- Nita Mooney – Female, 50s. Kind-hearted and simple, with a sweet disposition.
- Mavis Flowers – Female, 65. Blunt and honest, but endearing.
- Crystal Hart – Female, 50s. Quirky, lovable, sings quirky versions of Christmas carols. (No real piano skills needed.)
- Sugar Lee Thompkins – Female, 50s. Charismatic, enthusiastic leader of the group.
- Bunny Sutherland – Female, 50s. Cheerful and polished with a hidden competitive streak.
- Bobby Dwayne Dillahunt – Male, 50s. Handsome with a rugged charm and humble demeanor.
- Porter Padgett – Male, 50s. Big-hearted and outgoing with a booming personality.
