Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is giving fans a chance to land a role.
The official Hunger Games account posted a casting call online. That’s right, the movie will be back with a new chapter and Lionsgate recently announced that Hunger Games fans can get in on the act. However, which role this is for is not completely clear.
Sunrise on the Reaping is a prequel to Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games series, set 24 years before the original story. It focuses on a young Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. The film adaptation is scheduled to be released on November 20, 2026.

Exciting news for Hunger Games fans! Lionsgate is officially launching an open casting call for a chance to appear in the next installment of the beloved franchise, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. This brand-new prequel is heading into production, and for the first time, aspiring actors have the opportunity to become part of Panem’s world.
The casting is being conducted as a nationwide social media contest, and participation is open to U.S. residents aged 18 and older. Whether you’re an actor, singer, or just someone with a unique talent, Lionsgate wants to see what you can bring to the screen.

To audition, submit a video that showcases your best performance—this could be acting out a scene, singing a song, or even something totally original. Creativity is encouraged, and no prior experience is required. Just make sure your video is no longer than one minute in length.
