Now Casting for “Dragula: The Musical” – Rehearsing in North Hollywood, Opening in Sherman Oaks This Fall

Santa Clarita-based director and actor Mark Mc Quown is casting talent for his new original musical, Dragula, which is set to open at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California, on October 23, 2025. The show will run for 12 performances through November 2, 2025, with shows Thursday through Sunday at 7:30 p.m., and matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

Performance Venue:

Whitefire Theatre – 13500 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

The production will rehearse throughout September and the first two weeks of October at a church facility in North Hollywood located at 5730 Cahuenga Blvd, a recognizable yellow building with parking and entrance at the back side door. Rehearsals are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Cast members are paid $10 per rehearsal, with $50 per performance and a closing bump of $80.

Roles Currently Casting:

  • Dragula – Male, age 30–60. A singer who moves well and can act.
  • 3 Ensemble Roles – Open to any gender and age. Strong singers who move well or can dance.

The show features three lead roles and a six-person ensemble. Three ensemble roles and the American couple leads
have already been cast.

Interested performers are asked to email Director Mark Mc Quown at markmcquown@ca.rr.com with their availability. Upon response, audition details will be provided, including an opportunity to read from the script, sing, and move/dance. A copy of the script can be sent in advance upon request.
