Hawaii Actor Auditions – Maui OnStage Announces Auditions for The Rocky Horror Show at Historic Iao Theater
Maui OnStage is thrilled to present an electrifying new production of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, running October 17 through November 2, 2025, at the Historic Iao Theater. The cult classic musical will feature nine performances, with showtimes on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m.
Directed by Kalani Whitford, with vocal direction by Jake Carter and musical direction by conductor Casey Nagata, this production promises a bold, unforgettable experience. The cast and crew also include audition vocal director Kirsten Otterson, costume designer Micah Oberg, and stage management led by Luana Whitford-Mitchell and Virginia Sandell. Maui OnStage board liaison Kristi Scott will also be participating in the audition process.

All auditioning actors must prepare a comedic monologue (up to 90 seconds) and 24 bars of an uptempo rock song. Bring your own recorded accompaniment—Bluetooth speakers will be provided for playback. No accompanist will be available. A headshot and resume are encouraged, and auditioners should arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in.
Video Submissions:
Actors unable to audition in person may submit a video audition containing the same materials. Send your submission to stagemanagermaui@gmail.com by Thursday, August 7 at 6:00 p.m. (HST).
Important Notes:
- The role of Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter has been cast and will be played by Eric Gilliom.
- All other roles are open.
- Actors must be 18 years or older. Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and LGBTQ+ individuals are strongly encouraged to audition.
