The iconic Knicks City Dancers (KCD), an integral part of New York City’s sports and entertainment culture, are officially launching auditions for the 2025–2026 season. With a legacy spanning 35 years, the KCD have become synonymous with the high-energy, high-impact experience of attending a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden—The World’s Most Famous Arena.
Tryout to be an NBA Cheerleader:
If you live in the NYC area, here is your chance. The official dance team of the New York Knicks, the KCD elevate the fan experience with powerful, technically advanced routines across a range of dance styles. Their performances are a key element of the entertainment lineup during Knicks home games, as well as at press events and community appearances throughout the season.
This year, the Knicks City Dancers are in search of exceptional performers who:
- Possess strong technical dance training in various genres
- Excel under pressure and thrive in collaborative, team-based environments
- Can confidently represent the Knicks, the KCD, and MSG Sports with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Are committed to a rigorous seasonal schedule, including 41+ Knicks home games from October through June
- Are available for multiple weekly rehearsals, media appearances, and mandatory team training
- Are 18 years or older and based in the New York City area

About the New York Knicks:
The New York Knicks are one of the most storied franchises in the National Basketball Association. Audition Details:
Video Submission Window: July 29 – August 5, 2025 (deadline: 11:59 PM ET)
Notification Date: By August 8, 2025 (regarding in-person audition selection)
In-Person Callbacks (Invite Only): August 17 – August 23, 2025
Employment Start Date (If Selected): On or around September 5, 2025
Position Type:
Part-time seasonal employee with MSG Sports
Pay rate: $75/hour
The Knicks City Dancers will work under the creative direction of Madison Square Garden’s Event Presentation Department and represent the brand both on and off the court.
