Auditions Announced for Orange Barrel Production Company’s Upcoming Comedy “Importance of Being Earnest“
Orange Barrel Production Company is excited to announce auditions for its upcoming stage production of Earnest, a clever and lively adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s beloved comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. This version, adapted by Tracy Wells and licensed by Big Dog Publishing, brings a fresh take to one of the most celebrated plays in English literature.
About the Show
In this uproarious tale of mistaken identity and tangled romance, two spirited young women—Gwendolen, who lives in the city, and Cecily, who lives in the countryside—are both under the impression they are engaged to a man named Earnest Worthing. The twist is that no such person exists. Jack and Algernon, two mischievous bachelors, each assume the name “Earnest” to escape their responsibilities and pursue love. When their charade begins to unravel, chaos erupts, especially with the arrival of the sharp-tongued Lady Bracknell. The result is a wildly entertaining comedy filled with satire, charm, and timeless wit.
