Acting Under the Influence Opens Auditions for “Chug-Cago!” – A Boozy Take on a Broadway Classic

Acting Under the Influence is now accepting video submissions for its upcoming July cabaret, Chug-Cago!, a high-energy, alcohol-infused twist on the classic musical Chicago. This unique production blends performance with playful irreverence and invites actors of all backgrounds, gender expressions, and ethnicities to audition.

Audition Details:

Submissions are open from June 24 to June 30. Performers should prepare a one-minute vocal selection in the style of the show. Video reels or prior audition footage are acceptable, provided the vocal style aligns with Chicago’s musical tone.

Dancers are encouraged to submit a Fosse-style dance reel. Alternatively, those auditioning for ensemble roles may perform “All That Jazz,” while those auditioning for Velma or Roxie should prepare “Hot Honey Rag.”

All inquiries regarding auditions should be directed to Magda at magda@placesplease.org.
