Olive Branch Theatricals Announces Auditions for Five Women Wearing the Same Dress
Olive Branch Theatricals is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, directed by Aubrie Alexander Hansen. Performances will take place at Olive Branch Theatricals, located at the Valencia Town Center (Suite 2283) in Valencia, CA, running October 4–19, 2025.
This dark comedy, written by Alan Ball, is set in Knoxville, Tennessee, during an extravagant wedding reception. The action unfolds in the bedroom of Meredith, the bride’s sister, where five reluctant bridesmaids hide away from the festivities. Over the course of the afternoon, they discover unexpected common ground—revealing shared struggles, hidden truths, and biting humor that bonds them more closely to each other than to the bride they are meant to celebrate.
Rehearsals begin August 15, Monday through Friday from 6:00–9:00 p.m., though actors will not be called to every rehearsal. Conflicts will be accommodated until tech week (September 29–October 3), which is mandatory for all cast members.

- Georgeanne Darby – Female, 25–35. Former “ugly sidekick” to the bride in high school and college. Now a bridesmaid despite lingering tensions—especially since the bride’s boyfriend once got her pregnant.
- Trisha – Female, 25–35. A former friend of the bride with a so-called “bad reputation.” A jaded beauty with a sharp wit.
- Frances – Female, 19–25. The bride’s naive and devoutly religious cousin. Sweet but sheltered.
- Mindy McClure – Female, 30–40. The groom’s clumsy, outspoken lesbian sister. Warmhearted but unfiltered.
