Production is back on the NBC Chicago themed shows. Casting directors for the Chicago Med series are currently looking to cast area locals who would like to work as paid background actors on set. The show premiered in 2015 and is currently filming new episodes for the 2026/2027 season of the show.
The casting notices are listed below. Please only submit your information if you are local to the Chicagoland area and have the availability needed. Please see the details of what they are casting for below. Please note that this is only for background actors / extras.

Chicago Med – General Availability Form & Photo Double Casting Notice (listed below)
We’re collecting submissions for Episode 12001 of Chicago Med.
FOR GENERAL SUBMISSIONS: PLEASE USE THE GOOGLE FORM, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. We open every single email submission and manually transfer your info and availability to a spreadsheet, so we strongly encourage you to use the form instead of emailing your submission. If you receive an error message, please try the following troubleshooting tips:
• Clear your cache / cookies (if you use Safari)
• Try using Chrome
• Try using a laptop instead of a phoneThis submission form is for general background roles, which means they’re open to any gender, any ethnicity, ages 6 and older WITHIN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA (2 hrs of Chicago).
IF SUBMITTING A MINOR (AGES 6-15): Please submit your child via email (chicagomedbackground@gmail.com; subject line “EPISODE 12001 MINOR”) with the following info included:
• Minor’s name
• Parent/guardian’s name
• Parent/guardian’s cell phone #
• Zip code
• Minor’s age
• Minor’s height/weight
• Minor’s clothing sizes: (t-shirt, pants, shoe)
• Attach a copy of the minor’s work permitTeens ages 16+ can use the availability form, if preferred.
General background roles pay $136.40/8. The pay rate is a flat rate for any time worked up to 8 hours (it is not an hourly rate), with time + 1/2 after 8 hours. If we book you with your vehicle to be parked on set, there will be a $35 bump added to your pay. No red or white vehicles, please. Pay for minors (ages 6-15) is $160/8. Teens aged 16 and older receive the adult (general) BG rate.

-AVAILABLE DATES: Please list all available dates between Wednesday 7/29 and Friday 8/7. We do not film on weekends (M-F only). Call times are usually early in the morning (unless otherwise noted) and filming days typically last 8-12 hours. Do not submit availability for the day if you have any time constraints.
