Actors, Singers & Theater Lovers ages 55+

Audition for lead roles and supporting cast parts, chorus and dancers in the upcoming Fontana Community Senior Center’s Theater Club’s performance of the Cole Porter musical comedy “Kiss Me Kate.” Open auditions will be held at the Fontana Community Senior Center located at 16710 Ceres Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335 on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. and are open to individuals 55+, with or without experience.
Show participants both novice and veterans, will have the unique opportunity to act, sing and dance in front of a live audience including family, friends and members of the Fontana community. Seniors who never thought they could be part of a Broadway-style musical will now have the opportunity to bow to standing ovations. “Despite the fact that many in the theater club have had no previous experience, they are surprised and delighted to discover they can give an entertaining and believable performance with the help of professional coaching,” said Show Director, Bob Rubel.
In addition to on-stage actors, singers and dancers, Theater Club Leader, Stephen Patereau, is looking for behind-the-curtain participants who are 55+ to be stage managers, property managers script managers set builders, stage hands as well as house (audience) managers.
Please note that participants are required to sign a waiver in order to audition. Individuals that are cast must sign up for a Senior Center membership ($20 for the year) in order to participate in the actual performances.)
