Casting African American boy 9-12 for Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”

Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking an African American boy, 9-12 years old, with very dark skin tone to be a featured extra in the Disney film “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” starring Nicolas Cage. We are specifically trying to find a boy with dreadlocks but may be able to do a wig if we find the right boy who doesn’t have dreads. The most important part of this is a boy who is not afraid of snakes. There will lots of real snakes in the scene & the boy will be required to hold 1 or 2 of them. The snakes are well trained, non venomous and there will be several animal trainers on set the entire time to ensure safety. But this will obviously require a boy who is unafraid of snakes. This scene is scheduled to shoot in NYC on March 5th (date subject to change). The Director will be selecting the boy directly & it will be featured extra work, no experience necessary.

If you are interested in submitting someone please email a clear, current photo to apprentice@gwcnyc.com and write “Boy with Snakes” in the subject line so that we can easily identify your email submission. Please include all contact information.

This rate has not been worked out yet but it will be fair for the type of special scene we will be filming.
