Casting Host who likes building things

Are you into buildling robots or tinkering with gadgets? Ever look at your washing machine and think to yourself, “I could turn this into a fog machine?” Powderhouse Productions is looking for two Tim-“The-Tool-Man”-Taylor-types to host a new show and take common household items/appliances and turn them into something completely different. A sedan becomes a zamboni, a fridge becomes a recliner, a leaf blower becomes a hovercraft. Is it entirely useful? Maybe not, but it does offer a look into what makes things work, and it’s pretty interesting to watch.

If you drool at the thought of building cool stuff then we want you to host our show.

Email our casting producer at stephaniecarter@powderhouse.net with a picture and why you should host our new show OR send us a five-minute tape (really, five minutes, MAX!) that includes ALL of the following:

• You talking directly to the camera: introduce yourself and give a little bit of your background.
(Have you been building robots in your basement since you were 15? Graduate degree in engineering from MIT?)
• You actively ripping something apart (the bigger, the better!) and talk us through it.
(What are you doing and why are you doing it that way? What tools are you using? What’s important about these parts?)
• Then make something cool out of those parts. Have fun and build us something creative and inventive. Talk us through that process, too.
(Why did you decide to make this? What are the steps? What’s cool about this?)

Be sure to include a one-page bio of yourself with your video.
Videos can be mailed to: Powderhouse Productions Casting – 212 Elm Street, Somerville, MA 02144.
