SYNOPSIS:
So begins the tale of Canaan Solomon, a young standout football player from Washington, DC also known as Chocolate City. Through his natural athletic ability, God given size, quick wit and charm, he has earned a full football scholarship to Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Through football, Canaan has been able to flee the tough streets of his past instead of becoming a part of his brother Caleb’s growing drug organization The Shaw Mafia.
When Canaan suffers a severe injury that threatens to end his football career forever, he has to decide if he will step out on faith or return to the streets of Chocolate City that he worked so hard to pull himself out of. Turning to his girlfriend Jaelin, his older brother Matthew and his mother Ruth, his faith in God and his street smarts will be put to the test.
Learning that deception, envy and mayhem come with the territory, he will struggle to keep the bonds of brotherhood and love alive. Chocolate City is no Candy Land and in these streets if you’re not your brother’s keeper, the game is over.
*This stage play will premiere in Washington, DC and will tour the East Coast and The Mid-West
* All Actors will receive a DVD Demo Reel for their portfolios
