WIGHT RABBIT PRODUCTIONS is holding open auditions for a paid, non-equity production of Rick Zieman’s original play Live to Die Old (working title).
Inspired by true events, Live follows the tale of Placido, an aspiring rapper who will do anything to escape the life of crime that would forced upon him. But in this story of loyalty, respect and betrayal, everyone has their own motives and desire to succeed.
Initial auditions are held at Stage 773, May 21-22, 3-9PM. To be considered, please send your headshot and resume to david@wightrabbit.com. All roles will be offered paid compensation.

Roles:

Placido: Twenties, male, Puerto Rican. Gang member and aspiring rapper.

Clip: Forties, male, African American. Father figure to Placido; problem solver of gang.

Miguel: Twenties, male, Puerto Rican. Works for Placido, trying to make a name for himself.

Pharaoh: Late forties, male, African American. Gang leader.

El Grito: Late twenties, male, Puerto Rican. Leader of a smaller gang.

Aurora: Twenties, female, non-race specific. Quick-witted waitress.

Sal: Thirties, male, white. Strip club owner.

Larry: Thirties, male, white, Sal’s attorney.

Credo: Thirties, male, African American. Muscle for the Pharaoh.

Rick Zieman wrote three novels before transitioning to plays. As a playwright, he draws from his rich life experience to create fresh and exciting products.

Wight Rabbit Productions combines a decade of theatrical and television experience to create a new production company. It’s mission statement is simple: bring new and exciting work to the public while discovering and nurturing talent in an environment that is not only rewarding but also financially viable.
