Are you the supreme dinner party hostess? Does your family think your home cooked meals rock? Are you a great home cook that may have the culinary skills and personality to compete in a reality cooking competition? Do people want you’re recipes? Well, listen up, a new series for amateur cooks is now searching for people who may be some of the best cooks in America.

The producers of the Food Network show “The great Food Truck Race”, have another great show in the works and you can audition to be a part of it if.

The Food Network will be hosting an open casting call for a new series “America’s Greatest Home Cook” in Chicago,  Illinois and Dallas Texas on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m in Chicago and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Dallas.

The casting call dates and times are below. To tryout for the cooking show you must show up with a dish already prepared and ready to go as you will not be able to re-heat or refrigerate the dish on site. Also please come prepared with a great photo of your dish and the recipe written down to leave with the show’s producers.

FOOD NETWORK’S TOP CELEBRITY CHEFS ARE SCOURING THE NATION IN SEARCH OF AMERICA’S GREATEST HOME COOK!
You’ve watched them on TV, bought their cookbooks, and tested out their recipes at home. This is your chance to work with a culinary icon! Outlast your competitors in this high stakes cooking competition and you could go home with bragging rights and a HUGE CASH PRIZE.

Amateur home cooks ONLY, please! You must have NEVER graduated from culinary school or worked extensively in a professional kitchen to be considered

Interested applicants should arrive at The Wooden Spoon on Saturday morning with a prepared savory dish, a photo of the dish as well as its recipe. Contestants are responsible to keep the dish at its desired temperature: no warming or cooling appliances will be provided.

Even though you will not be able to cook anything or heat anything up at the casting event, you will have a few minutes to plate your dish. You must bring everything you need with you including all utensils you will be using.

This show is only for amateur home cooks and foodies. Those with professional restaurant experience, experience in any food service or those who have gone to culinary school will not be considered for this series.
