We are holding screen tests for a new short film written and directed by the BAFTA nominated Anwar Boulifa. MAJNUN (‘crazy man’ or ‘the possessed’ in Arabic) is loosely based on the middle -eastern fable of ‘Layla and Majnun’ – a precursor to ‘Romeo & Juliet’ in which lovers are tragically driven mad by being torn apart– and transposed to the squalor of modern day East London.
