We are in need of Professional Dancers /Male (ballet, jazz or folk), ages 18-40 in Massachusetts area.
Project Title: “Aleko” opera by Sergei Rachmaninoff,
Date of Performances: June 9, June 11, June 12, 2013
Rehearsals period: May 13 – June 2 – twice a week
June 2-June 8- every day
Details: The style of dancing is Gypsy folk dance
Costumes Will Be Provided
Casting Date and Time: Feb. 20th, 2013, 7PM-10PM

Audition requirements:
1. A prepared solo, either ballet, modern or jazz to musical accompaniment (please bring a CD with the music). The solo may be original choreography or from standard repertory. It should demonstrate the dancer’s artistic qualities and flow of movement, and should be approximately two minutes in length. Please state the title of the solo, the choreographer, and the composer of the music before performing.
2. Dancers will be taught and coached on a brief Gypsy repertory sequence. We are interested in how quickly the dancer picks up choreography, how he responds to and incorporate corrections, and how he functions as a member of an ensemble in a rehearsal-like setting.
Clothing Requirement
no loose fitting tee-shirts, no leg warmers.
