ABC new series ‘American Crime’ now casting the Pilot episode in Austin TX

The new ABC Television Pilot “American Crime” will begin filming within a few weeks and a call for extras in Austin has been released. The production is looking to fill various background, there are many, many roles for all different types, you can see the full list below, which is pretty long.

American Crime” is about the lives of people who are participating in a murder trial. The trial has significant racial motives and the people involved will be forever changed during by the trial and the legal process. The new series is being written and executive produced by John Riddley (12 years a Slave).

American Crime” takes on racial issues and the story is set in California even though it is filming in Texas.

Casting directors at on Location Casting in Texas will be needing men, women and children of all ages and ethnicities. They will especially be needing many Hispanic and African American background extras.

The production will be filming between March 10th and March 26th in Austin. Extras who apply should have availability on the listed dates and be available for long filming days that may go over 12 hours and film during various hours which may include early mornings and late night. Extras cast will be paid around minimum wage for the hours that they work on set and any hours over 8 will be paid as overtime (time and a half)

No professional acting experience or any background / extras experience is required however, you must be a resident of Texas with a valid Texas ID to work on this project. No body from out of State will be considered and no travel expenses will be paid.

AUSTIN, TX area – On Location Casting

Project: “American Crime” – ABC Television Pilot

Shoot dates: We will be filming on a Monday – Friday schedule from 3/10/14 – 3/26/14. Various time requirements depending on role cast in.

Shoot times: Times vary depending on role cast in. Extras should be prepared to work a 12 hour+ day on the day chosen.

Shoot location: Austin, TX and surrounding areas

Compensation: NON-UNION Extra Rate is TBD but will be minimum wage or higher. Overtime will be paid after 8 hours. Lunch and snacks provided.

Photos should not be date stamped with any year other than 2014! Try to take a photo against a solid color background – take one from just mid-chest up and one from mid-calf up if possible.
