Great Lakes Theater will be holding auditions for kids for the Great Lakes Theater production of “Les Miserables“.
There are 2 open roles available and auditions will be held by appointment only. The open roles are that of a young Cosette who is a female ages 7 to 10 and that of Gavroche, a male ages 8 to 11.
Les Misérables is based on the French historical novel of the same name by Victor Hugo – the novel explores the history, politics and social situations in 19 Century France. The novel has been turned into a musical as well as a film in recent years. The musical is set in early 19th-century France where a peasant Jean Valjean has just been released from prison where he served 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. He subsequently breaks his parole and is swept up into revolution led by young idealists.
Children for Les Misérables
The auditions, scheduled for May 28th and are are by appointment only.
Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking child actors of all cultures and backgrounds, for the company’s fall 2014 production of Les Misérables. Rehearsals will begin on or about September 12th with performance dates scheduled from October 3rd through November 9th. The show will run in repertory with The Merry Wives of Windsor. Morning student matinees will be included as part of the performance schedule.
Young Cosette (female, ages 7 – 10)
Gavroche (male, ages 8 – 11).
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the PlayhouseSquare Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave, Cleveland, Ohio, 44115). Appointments times will be confirmed via email.
Children auditioning should bring a headshot and resume. Audition music from Les Misérables will be provided when appointments are confirmed. Children may also be asked to read from the script. Children auditioning should not use accents for either role.
