Netflix / Wachowski Brothers New Series “Sense8” Casting Chicago Extras

A new show is coming to Netflix…. “Sense8”

The  brothers behind the Matrix trilogy, The Wachowskis, have a new Television series coming out next year. “Sense 8” is a sci-fi series about a group of people who have a mysterious mental power.

The show is currently filming in the Chicago area and is in need of various extras which include gang types, doctor types, nurses, military, inmates and more. The show will be filming some large crowd scenes as well that will most likely need tons of extras. Casting directors at Atmosphere in Chicago have setup an online form for people to fill out in order to apply for the show.

According to Deadline, The “Sense8” cast will include Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews(Lost), Freema Agyeman(Doctor Who) and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe). The cast is very international and includes actors from around the globe. “Sense 8” will also include British actors Tuppence Middleton (Wachowskis’ new film Jupiter Ascending) and Aml Ameen (Lee Daniels’ The Butler), the international castings continue with Indian actress Tena Desae, South Korean actress Doona Bae, German actor Max Riemelt, Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra.

“Sense8” is supposed to be filming in multiple locations this summer. “Sense8” began filming on location in Chicago and at Cinespace Studios last Wednesday and will wrap in Chicago around August 8. The series will consist of 10 episodes and is currently scheduled to film in San Francisco, Mexico City, London and Berlin.

“The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally,” Deadline had a chit chat with “Sense 8” showrunnr, J. Michael Straczynski. In the interview he explained a bit about exactly how the show’s characters are mentally linked to each other….

“They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.” IMDB has the following description of the new Netflix series… A group of people around the world are suddenly linked mentally, and must find a way to survive being hunted by those who see them as a threat to the world’s order.

The series was originally set to premiere on Netflix in late 2014, but seems that the premiere date has now been pushed into 2015.
