New Cooking show for Amateur Cooks “On The Menu”

TNT is entering the food show competition with a very unique cooking reality competition, “On The Menu”

The new show will be the first to allow viewers, well some of them, to actually taste the winning dish. The new show will have reality TV super producer, Mark Burnett (The Bible, The Voice, Survivor) serve as the executive producer on the new series.

The competitors on the show will be amateur cooks, home cooks and people who are not food industry pros. The competitors will work with professional chef mentors to refine their dishes and get them ready to go ” On The Menu“.

There are lots of cooking competitions on TV and as great as all the food looks, the shows viewers can only imagine what it may taste like. “On The Menu” will change that by putting the winning dish on a restaurants menu which will allow viewers to come in and order it.

Episodes will consist of cooks working with professional chefs to create a winning signature dish. The winning dish will be put on that restaurants menu the following day. The show will concentrate on American food and many types of eateries including food chains, restaurants, and even concession stands. Eater.com describes the new show as Fashion Star meets MasterChef.

“On the Menu is a terrific concept, bringing together home cooks, professional chefs and popular eateries together in a competition setting, then giving viewers the chance to taste the winning dishes themselves,” said David Eilenberg, senior vice president, unscripted development for TNT and TBS. “We are very excited to be working with Mark Burnett once again, especially on a show as fun and unique as On the Menu.”

On The menu casting call for chefs and cooks

I’m 23 years old, and I recently got accepted into the Les Cheneaux Culinary School, located in the Les Cheneaux islands of Michigan. I would really like to be on an amateur cooking show to see exactly where my cooking skills are. I love cooking, I usually try and cook out of my comfort zone to challenge myself as much as possible. Please let me know what you think and would greatly appreciate this experience. Thank you.
