Open Auditions for Speaking Roles on Hank Williams Biopic “I Saw The Light” in LA

Now casting for speaking roles and non-speaking extras on the Hank Williams Sr. Biopic “I Saw The Light.”

The film will begin shooting in Shreveport, LA n Mid October. An open casting call will be held on the 14th for talent who would like to be considered for speaking parts as well as those who would like to work as movie extras.

Tom Hiddleston has been cast in the lead role of Hank Williams and you can watch the clip of Tom preparing for his role as the iconic country singer by performing “Move It On Over” at the Wheatland Music Festival just a few days back on Sept 6, 2014. Most recently, Tom Hiddleston played the devious “Loki” in the Avengers films. He is now setting aside that evil persona to take on Hank Williams. Tom Hiddleston had just wrapped on Universal Pictures / Guillermo del Toro’s “Crimson Peak.”

The film will be shot this fall and winter in the Shreveport area. Casting directors with Legacy Casting are seeking to fill both speaking and non-speaking roles in the film. They will also be needing lots of extras and are especially interested in extras who already own some western attire.

Move It On Over” will be directed by Marc Abraham (‘Children of Men,’ ‘In Time’) and according to THR will chronicle Williams’ rise to fame along.  Marc Abraham also wrote the screenplay that is based on Colin Escott’s biography about the country western legend. Aaron L. Gilbert’s Bron Studios will be producing the feature with  Brett Ratner, G. Marq Roswell and Marc Abraham. RatPac Entertainment along with James Packer will serve as the projects executive producers.

Those interested can attend the open call coming up this Sunday in Shreveport. If you will be applying for a paid extras role, castiing directors would like you to come on down dressed to impress in your western best.

is holding an OPEN CALL for ACTORS, EXTRAS and AUTOS for the FEATURE FILM, “I Saw the Light”,

OPEN CALL will be held on Sunday, September 14
from 11 AM until 4 PM at 6901 W. 70th
Shreveport, LA 71129.

The film, “I Saw the Light” is the story of Hank Williams, starring Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams.

Casting directors are seeking actors for speaking roles.

Also we are looking for extras of all ages (mostly adults) and anyone who has any “western outfits” should attend the open call wearing those outfits.
We are also seeking period vehicles from 1930 – 1950. It is not necessary to bring the vehicle, but please bring good photographs of the vehicles.
Everyone should bring non-returnable current photos of themselves for us to keep.
