Season 3 of the Netflix comedy “Orange is the New Black” is casting extras in New York
The series is seeking male and female background talent between the ages of 18 and 23 to play punk rock and grunge type high school students for a scene filming shortly. They are looking alternative types that have tattoos, piercings and punkish styled hair.
A few months back Netflix announced, to no surprise, that “Orange is the New Black” was getting renewed by the streaming network and Season 3 will be coming soon. The Netflix series has gotten great reviews from viewers and critics alike and also received about a dozen Emmy nominations during the last award season.
The series follows Brooklynite Piper Chapman, a woman with a checkered past. Her not so clean past comes to bite her in the butt as she gets arrested for a past offense and is sent to a women’s prison. Piper is forced to give up her designer duds for an orange jumpsuit as she ends up housed with an eccentric bunch of prisoners in her new home at the correctional facility.
Orange Is the New Black was created by Jenji Kohan and produced by Tilted Productions and Lionsgate Television. The dramady is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir of her year in prison, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison. Season 2 premiered over the summer on June 6, 2014. Season 3 is in production right now but a release date has not yet been set but it will most likely air in early summer.
