FOX’s new show, The Red Band Society is casting for quite a few featured extras.
“The Red Band Society“, a new FOX TV series about a group of sick kids who live in a hospital wing is now filming new episodes and casting directors at CSC are looking to fill some featured roles on the show.
The show is looking for kids, adults and some people with some older model cars to work as extras in the Atlanta area shortly.
Steven Spielberg and his company Amblin Television are behind the TV series which is actually described as inspiring and not at all what one would expect from a show that focuses on sick kids. Academy Award winner Octavia Spenser will star in this coming-of-age story about teens who who had to trade in the High school hallways for that of a hospitals. The show has been described to have a ‘Breakfast Club‘ meets ‘Glee‘ type of vibe. According to THR, we will not be seeing a body count on this one, the show is described as a dramedy which is inspired by true stories. They also say that the show will play with time and take viewers out of the hospitals confines by providing some back stories about how they got there as well as their relationships with family outside the hospital.
Octavia Spenser plays a worker in the pediatric wing. The show also stars Ciara Bravo of Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush and Nolan Sotillociara of Prom. “The Red Band Society” is based on a Spanish language series called “Polseres Vermelles“, created by Albert Espinosa who was inspired by his own childhood experiences. The series is set to premiere this fall in September.
