Blue Butterfly – The Black Ballerina

Based on the book, Blue Butterfly by Marian L.Thomas. Play adapted by Marian Thomas and Shandra L. McDonald. Directed and Choreographed by Dr. Shondrika Moss-Bouldin. The production of Blue Butterfly will feature a multi-cultural cast with an emphasis on actors with ballet training or ballet dancers with acting training (1 Male and 1 Female Role).
Roles for non-ballet talent are also being auditioned for. Blue Butterfly will be performed at Marietta Performing Arts Center from June 17-19th 2016. All cast members will receive pay for the performances. Auditions are by appointment, but walk-ins are welcome (first come, first serve).
Auditions will be held at on Saturday, February 6th from 11am-4pm at Mark Square Studios in Tucker, GA. Callbacks are February 7th from 11-2:30 pm (please be prepared to stay the entire time and wear comfortable clothing for a movement audition). Rehearsals begin mid April-June 15th 2016. (Alternating M, W and Saturdays). Please bring a resume, headshot (or clear photograph that will NOT be returned) and prepare a one minute or less monologue. Dancers be prepared to show a 8-count (ballet) without music.
