Actress Wanted in Miami for Female Lead in “God of Carnage”

By | February 23, 2015

Location: Miami, FL

Type: Theater

Open call: Saturday, February 28th @ 2pm

We are currently seeking actresses to play the two female leads:

Annette Raleigh (30s to early 40s): Alan’s wife who works in wealth management. Anxious to please and always looking to do the right thing, but clearly not a pushover.

Veronica Novak (40s): A writer and part-time employee at an art history bookstore. She is the catalyst for bringing the two couples together. Articulate and serious-minded, she comes across as no-nonsense, but has a deep sensitivity for making the world a better place.

Synopsis: ‘God of Carnage,’ by Yasmina Reza, a dark comedy play, which won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2009, deals with two sets of parents who meet to have a civilized discussion about a schoolyard scuttle between their sons. What begins as a cordial evening, ends with the adults themselves acting like children. ‘God of Carnage’ deals with a host of subjects, including parenting, misogyny, racial prejudice, and homophobia.
