Location: Portland, OR

Type: Web series

Edgy coming of age web series set in Portland is seeking 5 talented teenage actors and 1 adult to play lead roles.

Production title: Chasing Harmony

Synopsis: Jake, a homeschooled 15 year old with severe social anxiety, enrolls in public high school in hopes of experiencing a “normal” social life. He quickly falls in with a group of charismatic hoodlums and starts making choices at odds with his family, the girl of his dreams, and who he is as a person.

Character BIOS

JAKE BALLENTINE (Male 15)
Jake is well mannered, humble, observant, insightful, talented and very agreeable. However, he lacks social skills and confidence. His stuggles with his own censorship and his inability to say what’s on his mind and do what he wants for fear of disapproval.

IVY GALLAGHER (Female 15)
Jake’s long lost childhood buddy from grade school, who has since grown into a hip skater chick. She has a free spirited, wild child personality and although she exudes warmth and confidence, her rough upbringing has made her unsympathetic towards other’s trivial problems, such as Jake’s smothering fondness for her.

TED BALLENTINE (Male mid 40s)
Singlehandedly raising Jake by himself. Liberal yet prude. Baby boomer with the spirit of a gen X’er. Always tends to give Jake the right advice for the wrong situations.

MASON GRIFFITH (Male 15)
His mom is an ex con and he was raised by street kids. Wants respect but has none to give. He’s quick to throw others under the bus and loves it when people are the butt of jokes, as long as it’s not him.

ROY BUFFA (Male 15)
Roy encapsulates all the external characteristics Jake desires, which are confidence, wit, social proof and indifference toward what people think of him. He’s pure charisma, both the life of the party and the guy no one wants to mess with.

CODY HOLLOWAY (Male 15)
The product of undiagnosed ADHD and southeast under-class parents, Cody is a rambunctious and down for whatever type kid. He is not the most savvy or self-motivated person ever, so he looks to Roy for guidance. He is a halfway decent ramp skater.

  1. Rebekah Baughman

Oh my gosh. I haven’t stopped thinking about this. My name is Rebekah. I’m 15 and I really love the sound of this part. I have previous experience in theater, but would like to try something different. I live in Eugene, but don’t think that travel would be too much of a problem. I have my own skate board if that helps. I really relate to this character you are trying to bring to life.

I would be interested in getting more information from you about this project. I think it would be amazing to work on this with you and I really hope that we can work together. This is something that I would work my hardest at, and I think if you gave me the chance to work with you, that I would really surprise you with what I can do.

I have been in plays before such as The Jungle Book and Peter Pan. My hair is long brown and wavy, but I don’t mind straightening. I do have a problem with dying, because of the risks, but if it really made the character, then I could probably be convinced to do something with it. I’m 5’6 with brown eyes.

I would like the role of Ivy, and I would be really honored if you would consider me for this role. I would need and then I can send you a head shot and anything else you would like.

Thank you so much for considering me and I really hope that we can work together.

  2. Micah McDonald

Hi my name is Micah McDonald and I have not stopped thinking about this role ever since I’ve heard about it. However I’m not a very good skater but I have friends who are and they would be very happy to teach me. I haven’t been in any movies yet by I have been in school and church plays for as far back as I can remember, and have played the lead in a few of them. Down below is some more information about me.

    Hair color: dark brown
    Hair length: medium
    Ethnicity: Caucasian
    Eye color: blue
    Height: 5’2
    Age: 14 (15 on jan. 2)
    Gender: female
I am interested in the role of Ivy. She sounds like me and I think she sounds like a great character that I wish to bring to life.

I understand that there will be so many other E-mails and letters and anything else you all are getting so if you have read this I really appreciate it. I can only imagine how busy you all are.
Thanks for your time I hope you can get back to me soon.
    -thank you
