Zarzuela (Musical/Operetta) Auditions! Looking for Singers/Actors!

Main Street Opera Singers and Grinlight Theatre Company announce auditions for the Spanish language musical Zarzuela. The production is looking for singers / actors to fill the lead roles as well as minor roles and chorus. Please see the role breakdowns as well as the submission instructions below.
What?
Main Street Opera Singers, Grinlight Theatre Company, and New World Productions are holding auditions for their second annual zarzuela, “El huésped del Sevillano” by Jacinto Guerrero. Performance dates are June 6th, 7th, and 8th. Rehearsals will begin sometime in mid-March. All performers will receive one-time stipends and opportunities to earn more through ticket sale commission.
This is a Spanish-language work so we are looking for actor/singers who are fluent Spanish speakers for the major roles. Performers in smaller roles do not have to be fluent. We are looking to fill all roles (cast breakdown below). Send your headshot/resume, voice recording (if you have one), and roles you are auditioning for to opera@melissasegarra.com with the email header HUESPED AUDITION – FIRST NAME LAST NAME. We will reply with a side, short musical excerpt from the play, and your audition time. Accompanist will not be provided. Please pre-record accompaniment or sing a capella.

Raquel: young maiden, daughter of the swords smith, Maese Andres, love interest of Juan Luis (soprano or mezzo with high range)
Juan Luis: Court painter and love interest of Raquel (tenor)
Constancia: waitress from the Sevillano Inn (mezzo or soprano)
Rodrigo: Squire of Juan Luis (comic tenor)
Don Diego: Count who kidnaps Raquel (Baritone)
Teresa: A girl from Lagartera (mezzo or soprano)
Ginesa: girl from Toledo (mezzo or soprano)
Huesped, Don Miguel de Cervantes: Famed writer who visits the inn and observes the events of the play. Speaks in verse. (Spoken Part)
Mesonera: Waitress who works at the Sevillano Inn
Mesonero: Inn keeper
Dorotea: Girl from Toledo
Maese Andres Munstein: Master Sword smith from Toledo
Fray Miguel: Guest at the Sevillano Inn
Capitan: Captain of the Spanish army
Corregidor: Spanish Magistrate
