Crossroads Theatre Project Holding Auditions for “Encata” in NYC

Actors of Latin descent needed for non-Equity summer production

Crossroads Theatre Project, in affiliation with Manhattan Repertory Theatre, debuts ENCANTA on August 26 & 28.

ENCANTA is a fantasy romance that tells the story of a pirate with a checkered past who embarks on her most dangerous adventure yet…winning the heart of the most feared and hated woman in town–a powerful sorceress with a bad attitude.

Auditions are on July 18 & 19, 1pm-5pm at the Players Theatre in Manhattan.

Rehearsals begin on July 20 and will be Monday thru Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunda from 1pm to 5pm. Further details will be made available upon being cast.

This is a non-union production.

Manhattan Repertory Theatre

Roles available are:

PENZIMA (late 20s to mid-30s), a bold, charming pirate who can match swords and wits with the best of ’em yet retains her sense of romance.

KATRINA (late 20s to mid-30s), a powerful sorceress with a quick temper and sharp tongue who has grown cynical about love and romance.

JUAN, Rico’s best friend (20s-30s). He’s friendly, loyal, and somewhat timid. He and Rico are two peas in a pod.

RICO, Juan’s best friend (20s-30s). He’s perceptive, loyal, and a bit cynical. He and Juan are two peas in a pod.

MARIA, Katrina’s cousin (early-mid 20s) who seems like the perfect angel but is vain, superficial, and a bit immature.

MOB LEADER, leader of a MOB OF HATERS who hate magic, witches, and fun.

 

Note: Trans and genderqueer actors can portray any of these roles and are strongly encouraged to audition.
