Sunday July 12 from 2pm-6pm

Monday July 13 from 6pm-9:30pm.

Callbacks will be held on Wednesday July 15 from 6-9pm. Those called back will be asked to stay the entire time.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute comedic or farcical monologue from a modern/modern-like play. If you are able to, we ask that monologues be performed using a British RP dialect, no matter the setting of the monologue. This is not required, but is preferred. You may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script after your monologue. Please note that being asked or not asked to do a cold reading will not impact callback invitations.

Please arrive 15 minutes early with your headshot and resume. You will be asked to complete a short form.

All roles are available for 3 Men and 3 Woman, ages 20s-40s.

There are also 2-3 full cast dance numbers and a full cast song in this production. One actress also has a tap number. These elements will be auditioned at callbacks.

Performances will be held Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons, and Saturday evenings November 13 – December 5.

A stipend will be provided to company members for your time and talents.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
All actors will portray multiple characters. The actor’s main character/s will have an asterisk. Unless noted, all characters will use a British RP dialect.

Actress #1. Female. Age: 20s-30s.
– *Grandma: The young Heroine whose biological clock is ticking. Wealthy, believes in love, is persistent, has intense emotions, and isn’t the brightest crayon in the box yet shows signs of having some form of education. Neice to the Captain, married to Electrician, falls for Architect. She has not consummated her marriage but wants to have a baby.
– Also plays: Death Ship crew & passengers, French crew (overdramatized French dialect), Old Grandma

Actress #2. Female. Age: 20s. 
– *Holly: 10yr old detective who sounds like a chain smoker and wears her own branded merchandise. Determined and likes to be treated like an adult but no one does. Suspicious of everyone aboard the ship. Tap Dancer (medium to high experience preferred) Presumed to be orphaned.
– Paranoid Woman: Petrified of water and drowning. Doctor prescribed her to be a passenger to resolve her irrational fears.
– Tour Guide: begins timid but grows strong during the voyage. Always smiling even when everything is wrong, control-freak, creates a plan, sticks to the plan, and does not stray from the plan, demands attention, will see any job through to the end no matter what. (Irish dialect if possible)
– Also plays: Death Ship crew & passengers, Granddaughter

Actress #3. Female. Age: 30s-40s. 
– *Rich Lady: Her company is the ship’s investor. Plans to destroy the ship to collect the insurance money without getting caught. Despises poor people and makes jokes at their expense. Mastermind and holds control in the scam. Extremely rich and well dressed. Manipulative. Married to Rich Man.
– American Woman: Super cheerful “everything is so fun, cute, and wonderful” and on vacation with her husband. (Dialect TBD in rehearsals)
– Also plays: Death Ship crew & passengers, French crew (overdramatized French dialect)

Actor #1. Male. Age: 20s-30s. 
– *Architect: The Hero…with amazing AMAZING hair. Created the ship’s design. Adventurous/Approachable tweed-jacket Professor type. Educated and loves his job of designing and drawing things. Strongly believes in the power of love. However, his past consistently haunts him, which leaves him to be a bit dramatic at times. Enemy of Electrician, falls for Grandma.
– Also plays: Death Ship crew, Citizen

Actor #2. Male. Age: 30s 
– *Captain: Others could describe him as insane. Mysterious, intimidating, over-the-top, commanding and in your face, time-traveler and superstitious, is aware of all surroundings – past, present, and future. Not all there in the head. Wears an eye patch. Very thick Scottish Dialect. Uncle to Grandma.
– *Electrician: The ship’s evil electrician. Grew up poor and was taunted for it. Plans to kill everyone on the ship and steal their money, especially his wife’s family’s. Worships chaos. Planner. Journals. Obsessed. Self-focused and driven. Does not like to be disturbed. (British RP dialect.) Enemy of Architect, married to Grandma. He has not consummated the marriage and has no time nor interest in doing so.
– Also plays: Death Ship crew & passenger, Psychiatrist, Citizen

Actor #3. Male. Age 30s-40s. 
– *Rich Man: His company is the ship’s investor. Plans to destroy the ship to collect the insurance money without getting caught. Dislikes poor people and makes jokes at their expense. Follows wife’s orders. Attempts to be manipulative but is more of a follower than a leader, enjoys being on a team with power. Extremely rich and well dressed. Follows wife’s manipulative lead. Married to Rich Lady.
– American Man: Super cheerful “everything is so fun, cute, and wonderful” and on vacation with his wife. (Dialect TBD in rehearsals)
