New WGN Show “Underground” Casting Extras in LA

A new WGN America show called “Underground” will begin filming in the Baton Rouge area next month.

The show’s extras casting directors are now accepting submissions from talent who would like to work as paid extras on the show.

“Underground,” is developed by WGN America and Sony TV. Ut is written by Misha Green (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Joe Pokaski (“Heroes”). Akiva Goldsman, Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold are executive producers on the project along with writers Misha Green and Joe Pokaski. The period drama is set in the South and tells the story of slaves escaping through the underground railroad.

“Underground” is accepting general submissions for paid Background Actors of all ages and is especially interested in African American background talent.

Caballero Casting is excited to announce that we are currently looking to cast several African American men and women of all ages to work on the new television series, “Underground”. Most of our paid background actors hired will have the chance to work multiple days and be a part of our CORE GROUP. These men and women will portray roles such as: Field Slaves, Sharecroppers, House Slaves, Runaways and Freedmen.

SHOOTING LOCATIONS: VACHERIE, BATON ROUGE, and ST. FRANCISVILLE
STORY LINE: Underground follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to cross 600 miles to freedom, aided along the way by a secret abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad, as they evade those tasked with bringing them back, dead or alive.
SUBMISSION NOTE: We will be asking our Background Actors to stop all grooming from now until the shoot so we do ask you consider this commitment prior to submitting … please note if you cannot make such commitments.

PLEASE NOTE
We will have strict hair guidelines and costume sizes. We will only be able to cast women with NATURAL HAIR, no modern cuts or fresh hair cuts and no dye.

If you are not contacted immediately, that does not mean you will not be considered for the show. We will be booking as we film so please continue to follow grooming directions.
