“Passengers” described as a sci-fi epic romance is filming in Atlanta and just released a casting call for extras.
The film, which is being compared to “Gravity“… as in huge budget and a minimal cast… is seeking attractive, fit, adult extras ages 20 to 65 for work in October to November. While filming dates are a few weeks away, submissions from talent interested must be in ASAP so selections may be made.
Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will be playing passengers on board a spaceship travelling to a distant planet for the purpose of colonization. While there will be thousands of passengers on the ship, only 2 will be awake for the ride. The sci-fi epic is being directed by Morten Tyldum. The script is written by Jon Spaihts, who wrote the first draft of Prometheus. According to a story in UK’s Telegraph website, “Passengers” will be set on what they describe as a luxury liner in space, complete with bartending robots. Michael Sheen is set to play the robot travelling through space with the Pratt and Lawrence. “Passengers” is planning on a September 2016 release.
A press release for the film described the story as follows….
“A spacecraft is transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet that has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger.”
“Passengers” is filming in Fayetteville where Pinewood Studios is located and all talent must be local to the Atlanta area in order to be considered. Please do not apply if you are not an Atlanta local as there are extras roles.
