Auditions for lead movie role, kids ages 8 to 11.
Director Jody Hill and Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, Observe & Report) have a new project in the works, “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter“.
“The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter” will star Danny McBride, Josh Brolin and maybe… you. The movie is now in pre-production and is holding a talent search for the child lead role of “Jaden”. Auditions will be coming up shortly and talent interested in the role must email their headshots, resume and reel to the casting director in order to be considered for an audition. DeLisi Creative is looking for a child actor to play 11 to 14 years old. Jaden is the son to the male lead role. He is a 6th grader who is confident and considers himself very cool eventhough he has an awkward quality about him. Jaden is a bit “Schlubby”, not very fit. Those interested need to get their submissions in ASAP as the deadline to apply is right now.
The project is being produced by Rough House which is Danny McBride, Jody Hill and David Gordon Green. This is the same team that was behind HBO’s hit comedy series Eastbound & Down. The team also has another HBO comedy in the works, “Vice Principals“, which is also in production now and has been releasing quite a few casting calls for background extras.
The story behind “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter” has been under wraps but this casting call suggests that there will be a father / son hunting trip involved. According to a Deadline report, McBride, David Gordon Green, Carcieri and Lila Yacoub are executive producing the film and the script is written Jody Hill, Danny McBride, and John Carcieri.

CASTING LEAD ROLE “JADEN” boy 11-14 (esp age 12): All types of boys encouraged to submit; esp unique types – chubby, awkward, etc.
JADEN: 11-14 y/o BOY to be the lead of feature film “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter.” JADEN is confident & considers himself to be pretty cool, but there’s definitely an awkward 6th grade boy quality that’s hard to miss. Forced to go on a road trip with his father, Jaden would rather be anywhere but. We are VERY open to kids that have no experience. This role could really find a new face and voice. Someone who has a raw, unique quality about them.

The role pays SAG scale and both union and non union actors may submit for the role.
